Chris Bittman
Partner, CEO and CIO

Chris Bittman is a Partner at Agility and also serves as CEO and CIO.

Prior to joining Agility, Chris was the Chief Investment Officer of the University of Colorado Foundation. Under his leadership the Foundation was named Large Foundation of the Year in 2007 by Institutional Investor’s Foundation & Endowment Money Management magazine, based on “superior investment performance, innovation and notable asset allocation moves.” Before being named the first CIO of the Foundation in 2004, he was the President and CEO of Jurika & Voyles, a California-based investment firm, where he was responsible for the management of over $5 billion for a broad variety of Fortune 500 corporations, public funds, foundations, endowments and families. He began his career on Wall Street as the Western Regional Manager for Merrill Lynch’s Business Financial Services Group and was the youngest Regional Manager in the group’s history.

Chris graduated from the University of Colorado in 1985 and served the institution as a volunteer for nearly 20 years in various capacities – as President of its Alumni Association, as Trustee and Director of its Foundation, and as Chair of the Foundation’s Investment Committee. He is a guest lecturer on investment management at the University’s Leeds School of Business and a former member of the University’s Intercollegiate Athletics Task Force. He has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for Colorado Public Television; Investment Committee member of the Colorado Health Foundation; board member of the University of Colorado Technology Transfer Office; and Trustee of Colorado Academy, a private, coeducational college preparatory school in Denver. Under Chris’s management, Agility has received a number of awards including OCIO of the Year in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2021.

Partner, Deputy CIO

Kent Muckel is a Partner at Agility and Deputy CIO. He also leads the Public Markets Team, and is a voting member of the Agility Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Agility, Kent was the Chief Investment Officer for Baylor University, where he was charged with overseeing the day-to-day investment practices and operations of Baylor’s endowment. Before joining Baylor, Kent was Senior Portfolio Manager with the University of Colorado Foundation, where he was jointly responsible for the evaluation, recommendation, and monitoring of the Foundation’s then $1 billion in assets. Previously, Kent was Vice President and Senior Director for Public Markets at Qwest Asset Management Company, where he was responsible for managing over $10 billion in public market and liquid alternative investments for the company’s defined benefit assets. Prior to Qwest, he held various positions as a fixed income portfolio manager and investment professional.

Kent earned a BS in Finance with honors from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver. He is a CFA charterholder.  Kent is an active supporter of several cancer and healthcare-focused philanthropies.

Darren Myers is a Partner at Agility and Director of Research for the firm. He also leads Agility’s Absolute Return investment program.

Prior to joining Agility, he served as a Senior Research Analyst at Tejas Securities Group, Inc., where he provided investment recommendations on special situation and distressed debt opportunities. Darren was previously a Senior Analyst at UTIMCO focusing on hedge fund investments for the $3 billion Marketable Alternative Investments portfolio. He also worked at Perry Capital, LLC, a multi-billion dollar private investment management firm.

Darren holds a BA degree in the Plan II Honors Program and an MBA, both from the University of Texas at Austin. He also serves on the MBA Advisory Board at the University of Texas at Austin. Darren is a CFA charterholder. He is an active endurance athlete, having completed the Atacama Crossing in Chile, the RacingthePlanet Ultramarathon in Georgia, and IRONMAN North Carolina.

Frances Ni is a Partner at Agility and also serves as CFO. Frances focuses on financial, tax, and operational matters for the Agility team.  Prior to becoming Agility’s CFO, Frances was the COO of PWP’s asset management business, where she dedicated the majority of her time to Agility.

Prior to joining Agility, Frances held various senior finance positions at asset management firms, including ReachCapital, FrontPoint Partners LLC, and SAC Capital. Earlier in her career, Frances gained public accounting experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where her clients included hedge funds, private equity firms, mutual funds, investment banks, and insurance companies.

Frances received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Fisher College at The Ohio State University.

Amita Schultes is a Partner at Agility and a voting member of Agility’s Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Agility, Amita was a Partner, Managing Director, and Senior Consultant at Colonial Consulting where she served as the sole investment consultant to many endowments, foundations, and pension plans. Before joining Colonial, Amita was a Senior Consultant at Ibbotson Associates where she developed asset allocation programs for asset management companies, insurance companies, and broker dealers. Amita began her career as an Investment Consulting Analyst at Salomon Smith Barney.

Amita earned a BA and an MA in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an MS in Financial Markets and Trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Finance from Walden University. She is a former board member of the Service Program for Older People, the Bronx Lighthouse Charter School, and Family Advisory Council of the Komansky Center for Children’s Health at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Schultes is a Trustee of the Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Foundation, serves on the Investment Policy Committee of the University of Illinois Foundation, is on the Advisory Committee to the Department of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is a volunteer at the Chapin School library. In addition, she sits on the Steering Committee for the Intentional Endowments Network.

Trey Thompson is a Partner at Agility and President of Agility.

Prior to joining Agility, Trey served as the Managing Director of Private Markets investments for the University of Texas Investment Management Company (“UTIMCO”) from 2002 to 2007.  During his tenure at UTIMCO, Trey built a team of professionals who were responsible for committing over $2.7 billion to venture capital and private equity funds globally. Prior to joining UTIMCO, Trey made investments on behalf of the Prudential Capital Group, served as a management consultant for A.T. Kearney, and worked as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs. Trey received an AB in American History from Princeton University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.  He is a CFA charterholder.

Trey serves as an Elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church, and is a member of the Sportsman’s Club of Austin, which raises funds for the Rise School of Austin, a preschool for children with disabilities. He is also on the Board of the Covenant Foundation. Trey enjoys exercising and playing an occasional round of golf, and is happily married with two adult children.

Adam Cohen is a Managing Director at Agility and is Head of Operational Due Diligence, where his duties include performing operational due diligence on Agility’s underlying investment managers and overseeing the Operational Due Diligence program.

Prior to joining Agility, Adam was an Executive Director in the Alternative Investments Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (formerly known as Morgan Stanley Smith Barney), where he served as Head of Operational Due Diligence. Prior to this role, Adam served as Head of Operational Due Diligence at Citi Global Wealth Management. In both of these roles, Adam was responsible for conducting operational due diligence on a broad range of alternative investments globally, as well as managing a team of analysts. Adam brings more than 20 years of industry experience, including his tenure in previous roles as a controller and a senior financial officer.

Adam earned a BBS with Honors in Finance from the University of Cape Town and has earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.

Jeff Curtis is a Managing Director at Agility and is a member of the Private Capital Team, where he is responsible for managing clients’ private investment portfolios. In addition to portfolio management, Jeff is involved in managing client relationships, sourcing investments, managing relationships with General Partners, and is a participating member on Agility’s Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Agility, Jeff was an Analyst in the Energy Group at UBS Investment Bank, where he worked on various transactions including corporate mergers and acquisitions, asset divestitures, debt restructuring, and strategic advisory assignments. Jeff is a CFA charterholder, and represents PWP on multiple Limited Partner Advisory Committees.

Jeff received a BA in the Business Honors Program and an MPA, both from the University of Texas at Austin. Outside the office, Jeff stays active by playing sports and loves to spend time with his wife and their two kids, Cooper and Charley.

Brad Edson is a Managing Director at Agility. As a member of the Portfolio Management Team, he leads Agility’s efforts in transitioning and monitoring client portfolios.

Brad has more than 12 years of investment experience. Prior to joining Agility, Brad was at Mount Yale Capital Group from 2006 to 2011 where he most recently served as a leading member of the investment team. In this role, Brad was responsible for sourcing and conducting research on traditional and alternative investment managers on a platform with over $1.5 billion in assets.

Brad earned a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and is a CFA charterholder. In his spare time, he enjoys hockey and golf, as well as camping and hiking with his wife.

Nat Fraser is a Managing Director at Agility. As a member of the Private Capital Team, Nat is responsible for managing clients’ private investment portfolios.

Prior to joining Agility, Nat worked for Strategic Investment Group, an OCIO provider in the Washington D.C. area, where he was most recently a Senior Associate responsible for investment due diligence in private equity, venture capital, and illiquid real assets. During his time at Strategic, Nat also had roles on the client service and marketing sides of the business, working with existing clients on a range of portfolio management activities as well as with potential endowment and foundation clients considering an OCIO solution. Prior to that, he was a Senior Associate with IXI Corporation, where his analytics supported market sizing and asset allocation studies on behalf of various bank clients.

Nat graduated from the University of Virginia where he earned a BA in Economics. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. When he’s not scouring the world for investment opportunities, Nat enjoys being outdoors with his wife, two young boys, and labradoodle.

Patrick Callahan is a Managing Director at Agility and is responsible for managing clients’ Real Assets portfolios.  In addition to portfolio management, Pat is actively involved in the sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring efforts for investments across real assets sectors, represents Agility clients on multiple Limited Partner Advisory Boards, and is a participating member on Agility’s Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Agility, Pat was as a member of the Investment Team at Mantucket Capital, where he evaluated and conducted due diligence for acquisitions, recapitalizations, growth equity, and specialty financing across numerous industries.

Pat earned an MBA and a BS in Business Administration in Finance from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.  He is a CFA charterholder and a founding and current member of the University of Denver Rugby Football Club Board.  Outside of the office, Pat enjoys spending time with his wife and their two Labradors, playing golf, traveling, and skiing.

Nicholas Hartnett is a Managing Director at Agility and a member of the Absolute Return Team, where he plays a key role in the team’s investment sourcing and due diligence efforts. Nick is a participating member of Agility’s Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Agility, Nicholas worked as a member of the Investment Team at Quish & Co., where he sourced and conducted research on alternative investment managers. His responsibilities included financial market research, investment and operational due diligence, as well as placing trades and monitoring trade analytics for a systematic equity market neutral portfolio.

Nicholas received a BS in Finance with a minor in Economics from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is a CFA charterholder. In his spare time, Nicholas is a recreational skydiver and enjoys training and traveling for the sport.

Karl Wichorek is an Executive Director at Agility where he oversees risk management on behalf of Agility’s clients.

Prior to joining Agility, Karl was a Senior Investment Director at Cambridge Associates in the OCIO practice. In his previous role, Karl worked with a variety of endowments and foundations, ranging in size from $100 million to over $3 billion, on risk measurement and monitoring, strategic and tactical asset allocation, and position sizing. Karl was also responsible for sourcing and evaluating managers in the marketable and alternative investment categories.

Karl graduated from Harvard College. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. In his spare time, Karl enjoys skiing and playing tennis with his wife, and analyzing baseball data.

Kirill Buzinov

Kirill Buzinov is an Executive Director at Agility and a member of the Absolute Return Team, where he assists with investment manager due diligence, asset allocation, and market analysis.

Prior to joining Agility, he worked at the University of Colorado Treasury where his responsibilities included assisting the treasurer in allocation and reinvestment of earnings in a $1.5+ billion fund, performing portfolio and daily liquidity budget reconciliations, and conducting investment research.

Kirill received a BS in Finance and a Certificate in Commodities from the University of Colorado Denver. Originally from Russia, Kirill enjoys skiing, traveling, and practicing Kendo. He is also a member of the Young Professionals Council at Denver Kids, a local non-profit that supports K-12 students in the Denver Public School system facing the challenges of a higher-risk environment.

Prior to joining Agility, Luke worked as a Supervisor of Alternative Investment Fund Accounting at ALPS Fund Services. In this role, he computed net asset values of various hedge funds, assisted in portfolio valuations, and aided in the completion of associated financial statements.

Luke received a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and an MS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Luke is a CFA charterholder. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, fly fishing, spending time in the mountains, and traveling.

Prior to joining Agility, Bridget was a member of the Real Assets Investment Team at PA Capital, where she evaluated and conducted due diligence for co-investment, direct investment, and primary fund investment opportunities in the natural resources space. Prior to her time at PA Capital, Bridget was a Business Strategy and Development Analyst at Koch Industries focused on evaluating investments in the agriculture and energy sectors.

Bridget graduated from the University of Kansas, where she earned a BS in Chemical Engineering. Outside of work, Bridget enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing piano, and traveling.

As an undergraduate, Brecken interned for Agility in support of the Public Markets and Portfolio Management Teams. He transitioned into his current role following graduation.

 

Brecken earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Financial Services, with Highest Honors, from Metropolitan State University of Denver. He is also a CFA charterholder. In his spare time, Brecken enjoys kayaking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Tia earned an MA in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University and earned a BS from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in China. She is also a CFA charterholder and a certified FRM (Financial Risk Manager certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals). Devin Arguinchona is an Associate at Agility and supports the management of Agility clients’ Real Assets portfolios. Prior to his current role, Devin spent over two years on Agility’s business development team, where he assisted with data analysis across various business development functions.

Prior to joining Agility, Devin worked at PFM where his responsibilities included structuring debt issuances, evaluating refinancing opportunities, and providing advice to local governments, universities, and non-profits throughout the debt issuance process.

Devin received a BA from the University of Washington. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.  Outside the office, Devin enjoys playing basketball, hiking, and snowboarding.

Prior to joining Agility, Chambers was a Vice President at Keybank where he managed syndications and private placements for the Equipment Finance and Specialty Finance teams. Chambers earned his BSBA in both Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business, where he served as the Undergraduate Student President. He is a CFA charterholder.

Outside of the office, Chambers enjoys traveling, playing piano, skiing, and sailing.

Prior to Joining Agility, Talene was a Portfolio Valuation Analyst for Duff & Phelps. Her primary responsibilities included valuing positions in illiquid securities, conducting financial due diligence, and preparing client deliverables. Talene previously completed internships with Greenleaf Succession Capital and Mercer, among other employment and internship opportunities.

Talene earned her BA in Public Policy and with a minor in Business from Vanderbilt University and her MS in Finance from the University of Texas. When she’s is not in the office, Talene enjoys Pilates, cooking, and paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake.

Prior to joining Agility, Colton was an Investment Banking Analyst for D.A. Davidson Companies. His primary responsibilities included leading company valuation, conducting due diligence, managing client communication, and preparing sell-side marketing materials. Colton previously worked as Project Manager for Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs and completed internships with D.A. Davidson Companies and Heritage Oaks Holdings.

Colton earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with honors and a Master’s degree in Management from Harvard University. When he is not in the office, Colton enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his cat, girlfriend, friends and family.

Charlie earned his BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and enjoys traveling, backpacking, and snowboarding in his spare time.

Philip Alfonsin is a Managing Director at Agility and a senior member of the Accounting and Operations Team.

Prior to joining Agility, Philip worked at Starwood Capital Group within the Operations and Accounting group for their REIT business. Previously, Philip worked at Sandelman Partners, LP, where he was responsible for various aspects of financial and management reporting. He gained public accounting experience at Ernst & Young LLP in the Asset Management group, where he covered clients including hedge funds, mutual funds, and private equity funds.

Philip received a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from the University at Buffalo.

Stephen Fleischer

Stephen Fleischer is a Managing Director at Agility and also serves as Associate General Counsel. In this role, he is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to Agility.

Stephen has more than 15 years of legal experience in the investment management industry. Prior to joining Agility, Stephen was at Janus Capital Group from 2013 to 2015, where he most recently served as an Assistant Vice President and Senior Counsel, responsible for providing legal support to the global institutional sales group, including privately-offered commingled funds. He was previously a Senior Counsel of Marsico Capital Management LLC, where he worked on institutional separate accounts. Prior to that, Stephen was a Senior Counsel at UBS Global Asset Management (Americas) Inc. and Senior Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Harris Alternatives LP. Stephen began his career in private practice.

Stephen earned a BA in French with a Minor in Economics (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Iowa, a JD from the Iowa College of Law, and an MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Outside the office, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, and playing tennis.

Kyle is a Managing Director at Agility where he leads the Client Service and Business Development teams. Prior to his current role, Kyle spent over four years on Agility’s private investments team underwriting funds and co-investments. He is a member of Agility’s investment committee.

Prior to Agility, Kyle competed in the NFL for three years as a tight end for the Chicago Bears and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As an undergraduate, Kyle interned for the global manufacturing company Oerlikon Fairfield, where his responsibilities included the research, development, and implementation of process improvement and cost-reduction projects.

Kyle graduated with Highest Honors from Purdue University, where he earned a B.S. in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing. Kyle is a CFA® charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Prior to joining Agility, Delina was a Vice President at Duhallow Financial Services, L.L.C., where she was responsible for financial and investor reporting for the Fletcher Funds. She gained public accounting experience at Ernst and Young LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP, where she was in the financial markets group focusing on hedge fund and broker dealer clients.

Before RCF, Molly held several legal and compliance roles in the investment management industry, including as a Compliance Manager at Independence Capital Assets Partners and Compliance Officer at Bain Capital.

Molly earned her JD from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Vermont.

Prior to joining Agility, Diana was the Vice President of HR at TIAA. She led a cross functional HR team and advised on all aspects of organizational design, talent acquisition, leadership development, workforce planning and compensation.

Diana received her BS in Psychology from University of Arizona and her MBA from University of Phoenix. She is an active member of SHRM and holds a PHR designation. Diana lives in Denver, and enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, Theodore and Finley.

Jessica has more than 12 years of experience. Prior to joining Agility, Jessica worked for Marathon Asset Management from 2013 to 2017, where she most recently served as a Fund Accounting Supervisor responsible for investor and fund-level reporting for the commingled vehicles. She was previously an Assistant Vice President at Conifer Financial Services, where she oversaw the calculation of net asset value for several institutional clients. She began her career at Ernst & Young.

Prior to joining Agility, Chris was the Chief Investment Officer of the University of Colorado Foundation. Under his leadership the Foundation was named Large Foundation of the Year in 2007 by Institutional Investor’s Foundation & Endowment Money Management magazine, based on “superior investment performance, innovation and notable asset allocation moves.” Before being named the first CIO of the Foundation in 2004, he was the President and CEO of Jurika & Voyles, a California-based investment firm, where he was responsible for the management of over $5 billion for a broad variety of Fortune 500 corporations, public funds, foundations, endowments and families. He began his career on Wall Street as the Western Regional Manager for Merrill Lynch’s Business Financial Services Group and was the youngest Regional Manager in the group’s history.

Chris graduated from the University of Colorado in 1985 and served the institution as a volunteer for nearly 20 years in various capacities – as President of its Alumni Association, as Trustee and Director of its Foundation, and as Chair of the Foundation’s Investment Committee. He is a guest lecturer on investment management at the University’s Leeds School of Business and a former member of the University’s Intercollegiate Athletics Task Force. He has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for Colorado Public Television; Investment Committee member of the Colorado Health Foundation; board member of the University of Colorado Technology Transfer Office; and Trustee of Colorado Academy, a private, coeducational college preparatory school in Denver. Under Chris’s management, Agility has received a number of awards including OCIO of the Year in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2021.

Cathy Clark has been an active pioneer, educator and consultant for 25 years in the fields of impact investing and social entrepreneurship.  In 2014, Clark was named one of top 20 women working in philanthropy, social innovation and civic engagement in the USA.  As Faculty Director at the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, she founded the CASE i3 Initiative on Impact Investing and co-leads the Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator at Duke (SEAD), a USAID-funded global health accelerator. She has coordinated global research across 15 universities using data from $4.5 billion of impact assets under management and from over 11,000 impact entrepreneurs in 29 countries. Clark was the sole academic member invited to David Cameron’s G8 Social Impact Investment Taskforce US National Advisory Board, and worked with the Obama White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Engagement to track $2.5 billion in impact investment funding by US-based entities. She is co-author of The Impact Investor: Lessons in Leadership and Strategy for Collaborative Capitalism (2014), which reached #18 in finance textbooks on Amazon in 2014, and a new online training series for social entrepreneurs, called CASE Smart Impact Capital. Michael Kennedy is a Senior Client Partner in the Atlanta office of Korn Ferry. He leads the firm’s efforts in the pension sector and has conducted senior level searches for the largest pension plans in the country. He has conducted Chief Investment Officer assignments for pension funds, endowments and foundations, Taft-Hartley plans and asset management organizations. He is also a co-leader in the firm’s diversity efforts, and has worked with numerous financial services organizations in the development and implementation of diversity recruiting efforts. Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Kennedy’s career experience was in corporate finance and asset management. He previously worked in senior roles at General Electric Capital Corporation and Wachovia. He started his financial services career at JP Morgan Investment Management Group. In 2010, Mr. Kennedy was nominated by President Obama, and confirmed by the US Senate, to the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB), the largest retirement plan in the country. In 2011, President Obama designated him as Chairman. With assets exceeding $480 billion, the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board develops and establishes policies governing the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). In 2014, Mr. Kennedy was recognized for his leadership by Sovereign Wealth Institute’s publication, Sovereign Wealth Quarterly, which ranked him as #5 on its list of the top 100 public investors globally. He was reappointed as Chairman by President Obama in 2014 where he served until 2020.  Prior to his roles at FRTIB, Mr. Kennedy served for 14 years as a Trustee at the Employees Retirement System of Georgia. During part of his tenure, he served as the Board Chair and Chairman of the Investment Committee. During his term as Chairman of the Investment Committee, he was involved in moving the plan into alternative investments, including private equity. Mr. Kennedy currently sits on the Board of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Investment Foundation Fund and also serves as a national co-chair of the UNC capital campaign. He previously served as Chairman of the UNC Board of Visitors. He previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. Erik Lundberg is the Chief Investment Officer at University of Michigan, responsible for directing the University’s more than $11 billion of investment programs, which includes the 9th largest endowment of an institution of higher learning. Located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the University of Michigan is one of the best-known and respected higher education institutions in the United States.  Founded in 1817 as one of the first public universities in the United States, the University of Michigan today is consistently ranked among the nation’s top universities with students from all 50 states and over 100 different countries. Since joining the University as its first Chief Investment Officer in the fall of 1999, Mr. Lundberg has established the University’s Investment Office as a highly regarded institutional investor and has seen the endowment grow from being the 17th largest endowment when he joined to being 9th in size today with a value of nearly $10 billion.  Mr. Lundberg received Institutional Investor Magazine’s Award for Excellence in Investment Management for Endowments in 2007 to recognize his outstanding achievement, was named Public Endowment CIO of the Decade in 2015, and ranked among the top 20 CIOs in the world by Chief Investment Officer magazine. Leading a staff of twelve investment professionals, Mr. Lundberg develops and implements investment strategy for all of the University’s investment programs, evaluates current and prospective investment managers, explores alternative investment strategies, and ensures successful communication and relations with the University and its Investment Advisory Committee. Robert Pozen is Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School and Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He was formerly Chairman of MFS Investment Management®, which manages over $200 billion in assets for over five million investors worldwide. In late 2001 and 2002, Mr. Pozen served on President Bush’s Commission to Strengthen Social Security. He developed a model called “progressive indexing” for closing Social Security’s long-term deficit.  In 2003, Mr. Pozen served as Secretary of Economic Affairs for Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. He helped the Governor close the state’s large budget gap and reorganize its functions in business and technology, labor and workforce training and consumer affairs. Mr. Pozen was formerly vice chairman of Fidelity Investments and president of Fidelity Management & Research Company, the investment advisor to the Fidelity mutual funds. During Mr. Pozen’s five years as president, Fidelity’s assets increased from $500 billion to $900 billion. From 1987 to 1996, Mr. Pozen was managing director and general counsel of Fidelity Investments. In that role, he created Fidelity’s Charitable Gift Fund, launched Fidelity’s entry into the Japanese mutual fund business, and served as a director of its credit card bank. Before joining Fidelity, Mr. Pozen was a partner at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Caplin & Drysdale, where he led the banking/securities department from 1981 to 1986. Prior to that, he was associate general counsel to the Securities & Exchange Commission from 1978 to 1980. Mr. Pozen also was a law professor at Georgetown and New York University from 1973 through 1977. In 1968, Mr. Pozen graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College, which awarded him a Knox Traveling Fellowship.
